And what was super cool when we met, it turned into a nothing-day over the years, as he’s an introvert and hates being celebrated and I’m an extrovert and love the attention, but it feels weird to celebrate my birthday and not his, plus weird to exchange gifts like it’s Christmas 🫠🙈 So we do nothing, and it hurts.every.time.
But hey, our firstborn has was born on the same month 😂

I’m thinking about it, especially after reading in your SQ book about naming ceremonies and promptly a pen/stage name came to me in a dream, and now considering one… for myself 🥰 and that could be my new birthday 🎈
Love this. My son was born 2 days before my birthday, so that birthday was spent with a midwife's hand in my nether regions. "Oh, it's your birthday! Happy brithday!" she said, as she inspected my stitches.
Our birthdays are just after the new year, so with Christmas and New Year, and then my daughter's birthday not far behind, I don't often have the energy to plan something for myself. It's all about them, which has been lovely, most of the time.
But this year, I found not having a birthday celebration REALLY depressing. It's my day, too! So will definitely do something really lovely for myself next year and also plan something with friends.

Happy belated birthday! As a shy person myself (but first born? So maybe more temperament than upbringing for me…), I definitely understand wanting to be made a fuss of on my birthday. I love love love my birthday - but fuss over me any other time of the year and I will politely tell you where to go…! Found myself smiling a lot through this. Thank you.
