It’s no secret that I’d like one - or all - of my non-fiction books to become massive bestsellers and to reach people all around the world.
Yes, it’s part ego: a desire for external validation.
But it’s also the fact that I’ve poured so much into each of my three books, and I’d love them to keep circulating and helping people.
Lastly, the more books you sell; the easier it is to continue writing, as an author.
And I really, really want to keep writing books.
So I’ve been writing pieces like this, where I get honest about wanting to get on the Sunday Times bestseller list, because this helps with sales.
Some people keep these ‘dreams’ secret.
I used to do that, too.
But I think there’s value in saying it out loud.
Because sometimes, wonderful, wise people then swoop in and tell you how to do it.
