What I earned in January (it surprised me)
Including a Woocommerce report from my website. And how you can create similar income streams from your creative work.
In January, when everyone was talking about it being the longest month ever and asking when it was going to end, I was quietly having a lovely time. I like the ‘new year’ energy and also, sales were flying in without me doing much at all.
I say that, of course I was working. But it was all creative work. Writing on Substack about living and working creatively; sharing poems and poetic passages on Instagram (and deleting 1000+ old posts), mentioning The Creative Way courses.
I did it almost without thinking.
Sometimes, the ‘selling’ part of running a creative business can feel like the hard bit. The part you don’t want to do. If only I could spend my days writing creatively and never having to pitch, or sell. And other times, you realise that is actually possible.

So, that’s what I did in January. I wrote creatively on Instagram and Substack, launched a new course - The Creative Way to be a freelance writer - and kept my coaching offer available in my shop. And sales just flowed in.
It felt like magic.
