I was offered $5000 to train AI on my writing

My publisher offered me a lump sum if I let AI loose on two of my non-fiction books. What do you think I said?

At first, I thought it was a scam.

This email came through asking if I’d like to receive $5000 in exchange for letting a specific AI company use my non-fiction books for AI training.

Considering that’s nearly what I received as an advance for my first book, I thought it sounded like quite a good deal.

Not least because I’m yet to receive any royalties on either of those books.

But then I thought: hold on, do I want this company using my writing style - that I’ve spent years crafting - to then regurgitate, as if it’s theirs?
